  • If you do not have the income to support a new and much smaller wardrobe, you may want to consider opting out on things such as: dinners out, mani's, pedi's, lattes, etc!!!
  • Definately take before and after photos and or measurements! You'll be amazed at the results if you stay committed!

  • Lastly, dont set yourself up to fail. Start easy, take baby steps. For the first 30-60 days just do P90X workout DVD's. Then add the nutritional eat right element when it works for you.

More on the 21 day Clean Eating Challenge

Wow! I am getting tons of emails asking for clarification of the requirements.
I will attempt to be brief in explaination, however, if there is something more you are wanting explained, keep the emails coming!

Examples of LEAN PROTEINS are:
1.FISH, primarily cold water fish, is one of the healthiest forms of lean protein due to the omega fatty acid content. Warm water fish come in at a distant second.
2. Beans, Peas and Lentils fall under the category of Lean proteins
3. Chicken and Turkey, farm raised, vegetable fed, if NOT injected with Antibiotics, growth hormones and chemical or saline additives would follow behind Fish, Beans, Peas and Lentils
Beef and pork fall out of the category of lean as they are high a plethora of fats no matter the LEAN labeling.

And all this talk about WHOLE GRAINS...
I mean, what ARE WHOLE GRAINS anyway???!!!
A whole grain means that all three vital parts of the grain - endosperm, bran, and germ have been left intact. They have not been processed, refined, and bleached as most grains, removing important nutrients.

Examples of WHOLE GRAINS are:
  • Barley
  • Bulgar
  • Kasha
  • Oats
  • Quinoa
  • Red Rice
  • Wheat Berries
  • Wild Rice
I will write more on chemical preservatives and additives in a future blog. For now I believe this covers 90% of the inquiries I received.
I cant wait to hear how empowered you all feel in your bodies!!! When you fuel properly, you burn hotter, faster, longer, and more efficiently and it feels AMAZING!!! Vrooom Vrooooom!!!

RECAP on the clean eating challenge!

  • No processed foods - Sticking to the OUTER isles of your grocery is a good rule to follow!
  • Fresh WHOLE Foods such as veggies, fruits, WHOLE grains!
  • No chemical preservative or additives- It is likely that if you cant read/pronounce the ingredient, you shouldnt be consuming it to begin with!
  • GOOD Fats ONLY! Start reading labels everybody! Poly unsatruated fats and Mono unsaturated fats are GOOD fats. Say NO to Trans fats and Saturated fats!!!
  • Stick to LEAN Protiens locally farm raised or organic when possible.
  • Excluding dairy may not work for everyone but I have substituted Almond, rice or coconut milk for dairy and it's mmmm, mmmm, good! :)
A girlfriend of mine reminded me to suggest that a Cheat meal is absolutely acceptable as eating clean is such a new lifestyle. We often mindlessly put something in our mouths that doesnt fit the new idea of clean eating... If that happens, jump back on the plan and keep bringing it!!! :)

21 Day Eating Clean Challenge!

So, imagine this... you pull up to the gas station, turn your engine off, walk around to the gas cap, twist it off and reach for... Milk??? Soda??? Chocolate syrup??? Huh?????
My thoughts exactly!!! I would never dream of putting such things into my fuel tank for certain fear of a disaterous engine failure...
So why is it that we find no problem putting such things into our bodies with out the slightest acknowledgement of the after effects it may have on OUR engine's performance, efficiency, and long term endurance...
Want to get the most miles out of the body you have chosen to inhabit?
BURN CLEAN FUELS and rev up your efficiency, your performance, as well as your long term endurance!
Not interested in peak performance, efficiency, and endurance? How about feeling good in your body, having great clear skin, looking younger, feeling younger...
There are SO many reasons to burn clean fuels or as some say eating clean.
So How does one go about eating clean?
1. Eliminate all processed foods
2. Eliminate refined flours and sugars
3. Eliminate chemical preservatives and additives
4. Consume only LEAN organic protiens
5. Consume only WHOLE grains
6. Consume only FRESH fruits and veggies/if possible organic, if not remember to rinse produce well.
7. Consume only GOOD fats such as monounssaturated and polyunsaturated.
8. Say NO to BAD fats such as Trans fats and Saturated fats.
9. As an extreme option I have eliminated all dairy from my diets as well, but this is certainly optional on this challenge.
As we are already 4 days into this challenge I would encourage any and all of you to join in! And remember the longer you burn clean fuels the better you will feel, the more efficiently you will metabolize calories, the more efficiently your body will use nutrients and the happier youll be!!!
Happy eating to all of you. I will be posting some clean meal ideas form time to time so dont forget to stop in and or share on the comment portion of this blog! :D
